Got started with buffer this weekend as part of the v3 release. With the new release came a new strategy involving transparency and better SEO. I decided to blog about my strategy for the best times to post.

Buffer Overview: “Buffer is a great tool that will help you in two main ways. First, you can write a bunch of posts at one time, and choose which social profiles to send them to, and then Buffer will spread them out throughout the day or week so that you don’t have to be at a computer all the time in order to have a social media presence. Second, since we shorten your links for you, we are able to provide more analytics than if you just were to post to Twitter or Facebook directly. For example, we can tell you exactly how many folks clicked on each of your links.” Read More @ Buffer FAQ Page. For social media, I’m focusing on Google+, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. (Possibly adding Reddit at a later time)

Strategy:
Days: Tuesday Wednesday Thursday — Right in the middle of it all and before leisure begins for most.
Content: – Post & Event Reminders – Announcements Social media sharing for GermaineMills.com is handled primarily by IFTTT.

IFTTT provides near-instant notification of posts. These posts, however, may not be very visible due to the times they are posted at all times. There is a lot of clutter in timelines. Especially with numerous people participating in Follow for Follow Back scenarios. Buffer will schedule social media posts during peak hours for more visibility and exposure. Buffer can schedule posts for any time of day, however, I want to posts during the best time to increase my traffic to the site. View this infographic to get a better idea of when to post where:

Buffer also allows you to integrate bit.ly for shortened link w. Analytics (Analytics require an upgrade from the free account). Bit.ly, however, does offer Stats for free in this regard. Make sure you add your tracking domain! http://bitly.com/Y21Bpl. Buffer also has a mobile app for your convenience.

how are you using buffer app? or how do you plan to use it?
